Meet your therapist
Hi, I’m Frances and I’m so glad you are here.
As a fully qualified and insured therapist and counsellor with over 15 years of experience, I help and support individuals through bereavement, grief, loss, and some of life’s most challenging transitions.
A safe, grounded and compassionate approach
Grief isn’t something we “get over” – it’s something we learn to live alongside. My approach is grounded in empathy, presence, and the belief that healing begins with being truly heard.
Over the years, I’ve come to understand that grief touches every part of who we are – our thoughts, emotions, and sense of identity. My role is to offer gentle support and a grounded presence as you navigate this deeply personal journey.
How my passion for grief counselling developed
My path into grief counselling
I came into grief counselling because I’ve seen how isolating and overwhelming loss can feel, and I believe nobody should have to navigate that alone. Whether you’re mourning someone you love, facing a life change that has shaken your foundations, or carrying a quiet grief that’s hard to explain, you deserve support that honours your experience.
Why I specialise in grief and bereavement
I have a deep passion for supporting individuals through bereavement because I truly understand how isolating and life-altering grief can be. My path into grief counselling has been shaped by both personal experience and my work with clients, each teaching me that while grief looks different for everyone, we all share a need to be seen, heard, and understood in our pain.
Holding space for your healing
Grief touches every part of who we are – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. It can leave us feeling disoriented, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. I offer empathy, understanding, and a steady, supportive presence as you navigate this difficult terrain at your own pace.
Walking with you through grief
Whether you’re struggling to make sense of your loss, coping with unexpected emotions, or simply need someone to walk beside you through your healing journey, I am here to listen, support, and help you find your way through.
Support tailored to your needs
Grief counselling isn’t about finding quick answers – it’s about creating space for what feels too heavy to carry alone. My approach is person-centred, which means our work together is guided by your needs, your pace, and your story.
My approach to supporting you
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including integrative counselling, to meet you where you are. At the heart of my work is a commitment to empathy, authenticity, and deep listening – offering a safe place where you can express what’s true for you, without pressure or judgement.
A safe space to explore your grief
In our sessions, you’ll find warmth, steadiness, and gentle guidance. Together, we explore your story at your pace – finding language for what feels unspeakable, making sense of the changes grief brings, and slowly building the inner capacity to hold your pain and, in time, your joy. Together, we’ll gently explore your experience of loss and find ways to rebuild connection, meaning, and hope in your life.
Professional qualifications and training
I am an accredited registrant member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, adhering to their professional code of ethics. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and have completed specialist training in grief and bereavement support, equipping me to provide compassionate, informed guidance through loss.
