About me

Hi, I’m Frances and I’m so glad you are here.

With over 15 years of experience I am dedicated to helping and supporting individuals through bereavement, grief, loss, and some of life’s most challenging transitions.

Grief touches every part of who we are – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. It can leave us feeling disoriented, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward.

Over the years, I’ve come to understand that grief touches every part of who we are; our thoughts, emotions, and sense of identity.  My approach is grounded in empathy, presence, and the belief that healing begins with being truly heard.  As a counsellor, my role is to offer gentle support and a grounded presence as you navigate this deeply personal journey.

How my passion for grief counselling developed

My path into grief counselling

I came into grief counselling because I’ve seen how isolating and overwhelming loss can feel, and I believe nobody should have to navigate that alone.

Whether you’re mourning someone you love, facing a life change that has shaken your foundations, or carrying a quiet grief that’s hard to explain, you deserve support that honours your experience.

Why I specialise in grief and bereavement

I have a deep passion for supporting individuals through bereavement because I truly understand how isolating and life-altering grief can be.

My path into grief counselling has been shaped by both personal experience and my work with clients, each teaching me that while grief looks different for everyone, we all share a need to be seen, heard, and understood in our pain.

How I can help you

Whether you’re struggling to make sense of your loss, coping with unexpected emotions, or simply need someone to walk beside you through your healing journey, I am here to listen, support, and help you find your way through.

About grief counselling

Grief counselling isn’t about finding quick answers, it’s about creating space for what feels too heavy to carry alone.

My approach to counselling

My approach is person centred, which means our work together is guided by your needs, your pace, and your story.

I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet you where you are. At the heart of my work is a commitment to empathy, authenticity, and deep listening.  I offer a safe place where you can express what’s true for you, without pressure or judgement.

What to expect from grief counselling

In our sessions, you’ll find warmth, steadiness and gentle guidance.  Together, we will explore your story at your pace and find a language for what may feel unspeakable.  We will make sense of the changes that grief brings, and slowly build the inner capacity to hold your pain and in time, your joy. Together, we will gently explore your experience of loss and find ways to rebuild connection, meaning and hope in your life.

Professional qualifications and training

I am an Accredited Registrant Member of the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society), and I adhere to their professional code of ethics. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and have completed specialist training in grief and bereavement support, equipping me to provide compassionate, informed guidance through loss.
