Hi, I’m Frances and I’m so glad you are here

Guiding you with experience and heart

Grief isn’t something we “get over” — it’s something we learn to live with. As a counsellor specialising in grief after bereavement and loss, my goal is to walk alongside you as you learn to carry your loss with strength, compassion, and support.  My work is grounded in empathy, presence, and the belief that healing begins with feeling truly heard.

I specialise in supporting adults who are coping with the death of a loved one — whether through sudden loss, traumatic bereavement, or ongoing, complicated grief. Each person’s experience of loss is unique, and I offer a calm, non-judgmental space where your feelings are welcome, and your pace is respected.

Supporting You:  My Story and Approach

How my passion for grief counselling developed

My path into grief counselling has been shaped by both personal experience and my work with clients navigating profound loss. I have a particular passion for supporting individuals through bereavement because I truly understand how isolating and life-altering grief can be. Having personally experienced loss, I understand how deeply such circumstances can affect our emotional well-being and sense of stability.

Coping with the gradual changes that illness brings – and the grief that follows – can be an incredibly complex and painful process.  This insight informs my approach and allows me to offer clients both empathy and a steady, supportive presence.

Personalised grief support

Whether you are struggling to make sense of your loss, coping with unexpected emotions, or simply need someone to walk beside you through your healing journey, I am here to support you.

Specialised support areas

I offer gentle support for those facing many kinds of loss, including:

  • The passing of a spouse or partner — navigating the profound changes this brings.

  • Grieving the loss of a parent or sibling, with sensitivity to your unique experience.

  • Coping with miscarriage or infertility-related grief, honouring the hopes and pain involved.

  • Healing from the loss of a beloved pet, recognising the deep bond you shared.

  • Supporting long-term anticipatory grief, such as when caring for a loved one through illness.

Whatever your loss looks like, you will find a caring, understanding space here.

Taking the first step

I understand that reaching out to a therapist takes a huge amount of courage, especially during difficult times.  That’s why I offer a free, no-obligation 20-minute consultation. This gives you a chance to ask questions, share what you’re going through, and decide if my approach feels right for you — all without any pressure.  Whenever you’re ready, I’m here to listen and support you.
