Frequently Asked Questions

It’s natural to have questions before starting

You may have questions before starting counselling, especially if this is your first time reaching out.

I’ve answered some common questions below to help you feel more informed and at ease.

What types of grief do you support?

I support many different types of grief, including loss of loved ones, miscarriage, infertility, pet loss, anticipatory grief, and life transitions. Whatever your experience looks like, it is valid and welcome here.

What happens during a typical counselling session?

A counselling session offers a safe, supportive space to talk about your grief and whatever you are experiencing. Sessions are guided by your needs and can include gently exploring your feelings, finding ways to cope, and supporting you as you adjust to loss.

There is no right or wrong way to feel.

What if I’m not sure counselling is right for me?

That’s completely understable. You’re welcome to get in touch to discuss your situation, and we can explore whether counselling feels like the right support for you before you decide.

Can I have sessions if I live far away?

Yes. I offer online counselling sessions, so you can access support from anywhere. All you need is a private space and a stable internet connection.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. Everything you share in counselling is treated as confidential, in line with professional ethical and legal guidelines, except in rare circumstances where safety concerns apply.

How do I book a counselling session?

You can book a counselling session by contacting me directly through the website contact form or email. I will then arrange a convenient time for your first session.

If you’re unsure, I’m here to help

If you have any other questions, or you’re unsure whether counselling is right for you, you’re very welcome to get in touch. You can also book a free introductory consultation to talk things through.
